ANOTHER SMALL STEP: See the Next Step in Construction of the Stereo Cabinet
Finally, a day warm enough for glue up! With the boards for the stereo cabinet all planed, sanded and ready to go, we needed a day warm enough to glue the planks into the wider pieces needed for construction of the cabinet, which we finally got on Wednesday.
So, while I was at work, Brad worked away and I am proud to say even took pictures along the way so that we could share the progress.
The first thing he had to do was take a good look at the wood and see which pieces looked best together and then cut those pieces to the appropriate lengths. He carefully labelled all the pieces so that we don’t have to recreate the wheel.
Once that was done, he carefully lined up the boards and marked exactly where he wanted to join the wood, which he did with biscuits and glue.
Slots for the biscuits were cut with his handy biscuit cutter. The pieces were glued and clamped to squeeze out the excess and glue and make the seams tight and strong.
Then it was time to scrape all the dried excess glue off.
Now, we are ready for the next step.
Yipee, I love progress! Good job Brad!
