BREAKING DOWN CHRISTMAS: Part 1
As I was packing up Christmas decorations and breathing a sign of relief that we survived a particularly busy Christmas season, I thought I’d take the time to put together a much delayed post.
This year was a very handmade Christmas. Unlike the stereo cabinet that we built for our son, which wasn’t finished until the end of the summer, I vowed to have this year’s gifts made on time. And we did it! This started me thinking about all of the many handmade items in our lives that our part of what make our Christmases so special.
This year we took on a new family project and made an audio holiday greeting card. We composed, sang, played instruments and recorded all on our own for the entertainment of our friends and family. We being Brad and I and our son, Ryan and daughter, Katie. Ryan, the best musician and the family, patiently guided us through thus project. Thanks to my awesome family for helping me make this little dream come true! We had lots of laughs getting this together.

The gifts we made this year included:
A t-shirt quilt and night stands for Katie and cutting boards for many of our friends and family. Stop back next week for more on those and for some photos of handmade Christmas decorations we have made and received over the years. Maybe you can get a jump start on next year so you can relax and enjoy when it’s time for the festivities again.
Happy New Year!
