THE GREEN ROOM REVISITED: Progress Report
One thing you learn very quickly when you are renovating a home yourself is that nothing actually moves very quickly. Now this a lesson I should have learned a long time ago, but I have to confess that when I decided to start sharing progress in the Green Room as it actually happened, that I did not think it would move this slowly. So for those of you that have been following along and maybe wondering if we possibly just gave up and sold off that room welcome to Living in Real Time! And thanks for your patience.
Here are a few pictures to help you remember where we started and what we’ve done so far.
The Junk got cleaned out. Cleaner but very green!
Next the wallpaper came down.
The old plaster on the ceiling had to come down because most of it was falling down already, so new drywall went up.
Next lots of holes went into the walls so that we could blow in some insulation. Maybe saving some money on heat will free up some funds for fixing up more things…oh yeah!
We pulled all the plaster off of one wall because I want to put wood planks there so it looks more cottage like in that room. I’m very excited about that part of the project.
So What’s Going on Now?
All the holes have been patched up, walls have been skim coated and the ceiling spackled too.
Next a little sanding, painting and my wood wall and of course, we need to do something with those green floors! It sure looks like Brad could use a nap and a back rub.
